A populated field shows which value was submitted, but not whether someone reviewed it or merely continued. In Screen Flows, an explicit toggle can capture that intent and unlock the remaining fields only when the user chooses to edit.
Combining Read Only and Disabled states keeps information visible without implying it can be changed immediately. The Flow can then distinguish confirmation, review and active modification, producing better signals for downstream automation and behavioral analysis.
The pattern requires care with defaults, validation, keyboard use and assistive technology. The goal is not to add clicks, but to make the decision understandable and recordable without hiding context from the user.
